The 2025 PREA final audit identified Eastern Correctional Institution as a large sentenced-prison complex with a designed capacity of 3,499 and a current population and average daily population of 3,080. The same audit reported no over-capacity in the prior 12 months. It described the population as sentenced adult men, with an age range of 18 to 80 and custody levels that include pre-release, minimum, and medium. It also listed 9 housing units, 636 staff with inmate contact, 495 authorized contractors, and 145 volunteers.
